Wednesday 2nd May

Today we will meet at the airport at 2.35pm to fly into Malaga and make the transfer along Spain’s Mediterranean coast to our luxurious boutique hotel in San Pedro de Alcantara. On our way we will pass through Marbella and the golden mile of luxurious properties owned by the world’s glitterati. From our hotel we are within walking distance of all the local shops, bars, restaurants and the beach.

Overnight in San Pedro.

Thursday 3rd May

Our first day on the Costa del Sol will be spent relaxing and soaking up the beautiful early summer sun. We are arguably visiting at the best time of year, when the weather turns to gorgeous sun and before the hordes of crowds flood the region.

San Pedro has chic beachside bars and restaurants and the town has its own unique puebla feel so the evenings can be spent enjoying our little slice of Mediterranean bliss.

Of course if soaking up the rays on the beach is not your cup of tea, then there are a myriad of things to do in this area. Thursdays is traditionally the day of the village market where local handicrafts, fruits, vegetables and baked goods can all be purchased. You may also wish to venture the short distance to the archaic village of Mijas to learn about the traditional Andalusian ways of life.

Breakfast Included. Overnight in San Pedro.

Friday 4th May

Malaga is the portal to the Costa del Sol, but offers a very different experience to the rest of the coast. Malaga is a bustling provincial capital filled with many cultural delights for those that take the time to visit. It is the birthplace of Pablo Picasso and has a thriving art scene with many museums and art galleries. The city has an atmospheric old town with sloped streets that are lined with bustling tapas bars and traditional cafes.

The city has undergone a renaissance, with its old port lavishly rebuilt and the main town becoming a desirable place to live and visit. The highlights of our guided walking tour include a 14th-century Gothic cathedral and the 11th-century Gibralfaro castle, which overlooks the city and provides stunning views across the city colloquially known as the home of the anchovies!

Breakfast included. Overnight in San Pedro.

Saturday 5th May

Today we can enjoy at leisure on San Pedro’s sumptuous seaside.

Today you may wish to venture to Marbella. Only 10km west of San Pedro there is a regular and affordable local bus that runs to the resort.  Formerly a fishing village lined with white flat roofed houses dating back early as 1600BC, Marbella has developed into one of the Mediterranean’s glitziest resorts. Its old town contains a Moorish castle, the famous orange square, and is filled with cafes, bars, restaurants and awash with colour from bright flowers and hanging baskets.

Breakfast included. Overnight in San Pedro.

Sunday 6th May

Today we have the option to journey into Andalucía’s interior past the stunning Sierra de Ronda mountain range to a rural and traditional vineyard. We will embark on a tour of the family-run property, sampling many of their wines and of course some tapas to nibble on too. All to be enjoyed in the serene tranquil settings of the green slopes of the wild countryside.

Wine tasting and transfers included.

Breakfast included. Overnight in San Pedro.

Monday 7th May

Today we will journey north through the stunning Sierra de Ronda mountain range to arrive at the historic town of Ronda. The scenery is dramatic and the city is split in two by a rocky gorge. A river flows through the gorge with historic stone bridges built in the eighteenth century crossing overhead. On one side is the walled medieval medina and the old town. The streets are lined with traditional buildings dating back to the 13th century and Arab rule, including the remains of an Arab bath house, a formerly glorious 13th century medieval spa. The south side of the gorge has a very different atmosphere with 18th and 19th century Spanish buildings dominating the skyline. The rich history of the town is complemented by the towns excellent culinary and wine-making traditions.  The town also has great shopping with locally made handicrafts, jewellery and clothes available.

Breakfast included. Overnight in San Pedro

Tuesday 8th May

Today, enjoy one last day on the beach. You may wish to enjoy some water sports or take the opportunity to take to the sea on a catamaran cruise. Tonight, enjoy one last dinner together as the sun sets on our adventure on the Costa del Sol.
