Welcome to Croatia and Bosnia

Welcome to Traveleyes’ first multi-activity adventure holiday set in the scenic countryside of stunning Croatia. Our base will be a tranquil and cosy family-run hotel nestled deep in the heart of Croatia’s green interior. We will journey along the magical Mreznica River, through the Plitvice Lakes National Park and on to the Una River, as we dip into neighbouring Bosnia. The best way to explore this area of immense natural beauty is to take to the water and travel down the Mreznica by canoe. The water is renowned for its cleanliness and provides great opportunities for canoe routes, swimming stops, and some exhilarating river rafting. The river stretches 64 kilometres and our routes will pierce through unspoiled green woodland and no less than 93 waterfalls. Hike, canoe and raft in this outstandingly peaceful area of natural beauty, then settle in to enjoy freshly caught fish on the hotel’s terrace overlooking the river.

These include the majestic Golden Eagle, lesser spotted eagle, the Western Capercaillie and the Great White Egret.

Wednesday 4th April

Please note a general level of fitness is required for this trip as it is geared towards people who are capable of enjoying outdoor activities for 4 to 6 hours every day. Some walks will involve shorter but steeper technical sections; others will include more gentle, but longer ascents and descents. There are the occasional steep sections, at times series of steps, as well as sections with loose rocks under foot, but there will be no scrambling or climbing.

No experience of canoeing or river rafting is required. We will be working with instructors and experienced guides, however as with the walks a good level of fitness is required for these excursions.

There may be opportunities to opt out during the walks/ canoeing / river-rafting excursions, however these are limited, so it is crucial that you are well prepared for the activities involved. In the interests of your safety and the rest of the group’s enjoyment if, at any time, the tour manager or guide feels that you are not suited to an excursion or are not able to complete a route for any reason, they may, at their discretion, request you to stay behind or return to the hotel.
